Hello Everyone, I am delighted to be a part of the College of Alameda (COA) teaching faculty! I come from a long line of educators and I absolutely love teaching!

In teaching Psychology, it is when students are able to make connections/applications from the material to their own lives – that is when true learning is solidified. My goal is for students to see my classroom as a safe space and be able to thrive, excel, and succeed. Class is a combination of lecture/didactic instruction as well as reflective work, individual, group exercises, and case studies. Many of my students are taking Psychology as a requirement, however, many others decide Psychology is their true calling. I have heard from students over the years who are now practicing in the field – that is so fantastic!

A Bay Area native, I graduated from U.C. Berkeley (Go Bears!) for my undergrad and completed my master’s degree at Saint Mary’s College (Go Gaels!). I teach at many different colleges and universities in the Bay Area and am an M.F.T. as well! I enjoy incorporating clinical vignettes in our class (without breaching confidentiality, of course), so, students can hear further what it is like to be in this field. In addition to teaching and counseling, I am involved in textbook reviews/chapter revision work as well.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, visiting museums, gardening, and reading.

Thank you for reading my bio! Looking forward to seeing you in class!
