Jennifer Fowler is a tenured professor and Chair of the Communication Department at College of Alameda. She has been teaching at the college since 2007. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Speech Communication from California State University, Long Beach.

She is actively involved in campus and district governance. Jennifer is currently serving as President of the College of Alameda Academic Senate and Co-Chair of the District Technology Committee. She has over a decade of experience teaching online and training faculty on distance education pedagogy, serving as both Distance Education Coordinator and Peer Online Course Review Coordinator. Jennifer also served as a team member on two Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) site visits.

Jennifer is a first generation college student born and raised in Alameda. She and her husband have a son and a daughter, who you will find riding bikes around Alameda on weekends.
