Position: Communication Facutly
Professor Jennifer Fowler is a faculty member and Chair of the Communication Department at College of Alameda. She received both her Bachelor of Arts Degree (2005) and Master of Arts Degree (2007) in Speech Communication from California State University, Long Beach. She joined College of Alameda as part-time professor in Fall 2007 and was promoted to a full-time tenured professor in Spring 2020. In addition to teaching communication courses, Professor Fowler serves as College of Alameda’s Distance Education Coordinator and Peer Online Course Review (POCR) Coordinator.
She has over 12 years of experience teaching online and training faculty on distance education pedagogy. She actively serves on a variety of college and district committees, including her role as Co-Chair of the College of Alameda Distance Education Committee and Vice President of the Academic Senate. She has also served as a team member on an Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) site visit.
Professor Fowler is a first generation college student born and raised in Alameda. She and her husband have a son and a daughter, who you will find riding bikes around Alameda on weekends.
