Vy Ho (Evie) Bio & Tutoring Experience: I am an international student from Vietnam and I have been tutoring at COA since Fall 2022. Some of the things I love most about tutoring are helping students with their academic needs and being able to create an environment where we can all learn from each other. Fun Fact: I love animals and traveling. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the city, trying new foods, and meeting people from different cultures. | |
Chanceline Zannou Bio & Clerical Experience: I am from West Africa, Benin Republic, and I have been a clerk at COA since Fall 2022. Some of the things I love most about being a clerk are being able to meet with different people from diverse backgrounds and cultures; helping students and making sure they get the necessary help for their academic work; and creating a safe and fun environment. Fun Fact: I love dancing and traveling. In my leisure time, I enjoy creating dance steps with friends. I also find joy in exploring the city, different countries, and making friends. | |
Junhao Ma (Jay) Bio & Experience: Hello, my name is Junhao Ma (Jay), an economics tutor at the College of Alameda. Besides economics, I excel in Pre-calculus, Calculus, History, and basic Biology. I’m fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and enjoy playing basketball and hiking. I believe that a healthy mind and body are vital for academic success. My tutoring style is to support the tutee and help them achieve academic goals and enjoy learning. Fun fact: One fun fact about me is I’m fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, but sometimes I mix them up and end up speaking “Cantodarin”! | |

Erson Payopay Tutor: Math & English Major: Computer & Information Sciences Bio & Tutoring Experience: 2nd year Community College student trying to transfer to either UC Berkeley or UC Irvine. I was a peer tutor at my high school and have decided to continue tutoring here at COA. I like to create a secure space for students to learn and grow. Fun Fact: I enjoy cooking in my spare time, and if I had to choose a type of food to eat for the rest of my life I’d choose Mexican food. |
