A Message from the President

MelanieDixonOn behalf of the faculty, classified professionals, administrators, and the entire College of Alameda (CoA) family, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. I hope that College of Alameda will be your college of choice and want you to know that our learning community is here to support you in achieving your academic, career, and personal aspirations.

We are a caring college community. Our talented and enthusiastic faculty members continuously demonstrate their passion for student learning, providing contemporary curriculum and innovative teaching methods. Our enthusiastic and professional staff members will ensure that you receive all the information and support services that you need to thrive throughout your educational journey at CoA.

Whether you plan to earn an associate degree, transfer to a four-year university, train for a new career, or learn new skills, College of Alameda is here to help you succeed. Classes are offered in-person, online, and HyFlex (combination of online and in-person) formats giving you greater flexibility in how and when you schedule your classes.

College of Alameda offers a variety of high-quality college transfer courses, associate degree programs, and certificates for learning in a range of exciting majors, disciplines, and interests.

As a student you may choose from a number of outstanding courses and programs that transfer to four-year universities, including the University of California and the California State University systems.

Or, if you are looking for career options, you may enroll in one of our highly regarded career and technical programs. These programs include: Apparel Design and Merchandising, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Automotive Technology, Auto Body and Paint, Dental Assisting, Diesel Mechanics, and Auto Body Technology, among others.

College of Alameda also provides life-long learning opportunities for students interested in upgrading their job skills, learning a new language, developing personal skills, or pursuing individual academic or personal interests.
