New & Returning Students
1. Apply to College of Alameda
- Create a CCCApply Account (Log in to your CCCApply Account if you already have one).
- Click the Start New Application button to complete and submit a new application, and select the semester you intend to enroll in.
- After submission, you will immediately receive an 8-digit confirmation number (Save the confirmation number).
- You will be emailed your 8-digit Peralta Student ID number, password, and student email within 30 minutes after application submission.
- A returning student will receive a Welcome Back email and their already established Student ID number.

2. Apply for Financial Aid (If Needed)
- Go to the Financial Aid Department for information on applying for Financial Aid, or fill out your FAFSA directly at studentaid.gov AB540 Dreamers can complete the California Dream Act Application at dream.csac.ca.gov
- College of Alameda's school code is 006720

3. Meet with a Counselor
- Schedule an appointment with a counselor to determine English and math placement and to complete your Student Education Plan (SEP).
- To clear prerequisites please fill out the Prerequisite Clearance Form.
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students should complete the Self-Placement Tool then meet with a counselor.

4. Enroll in Classes
- Log into the Student Portal to open Campus Solutions to enroll in classes. You can also pay your fees there.
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students should complete the Self-Placement Tool before enrolling in classes.

5. Complete the Online Orientation
- Complete the online orientation and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training in Canvas. You will not have access to these courses until you have enrolled in classes.
6. Student ID Card and Semester Sticker
- Bring a valid photo ID and your current class schedule as proof of enrollment to the Welcome Center (A Building) to get your student ID card and semester sticker.
- Your student ID card provides access to: Basic Needs support such as The Market, Boutique and One Stop Shop as well as campus events, library services, and local store discounts.
7. Purchase Your Textbooks
- You can purchase your textbooks at the Laney College Bookstore or at the online bookstore.
