CARE
The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) Program is available to EOPS students who are single parents receiving public assistance. CARE offers additional support services so students can transition from welfare dependency. How? By offering comprehensive academic and support counseling, financial aid, grants for books, tools, uniforms, childcare, transportation, housing, and groceries, priority registration, and an array of other services aimed at helping students reach their education and career goals.
How to qualify for the CARE Program?
- You must be a California resident or eligible for the California Dream Act/AB540
- Must be an EOPS participant
- Single head of household (i.e., one parent assistance unit)
- Parent or child must be a current CalWORKs, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Tribal TANF cash aid recipient
- At least 18 years old
- CARE services are provided to students who no longer receive CalWORKs, TANF, and Tribal TANF cash aid, but whose dependent children still do
