I Want To Become A Student Of The Athletic Eligibility Game
A successful College of Alameda Student Athlete-must be held accountable and be self responsible for their own ability to remain eligible during their attendance at the college. The decision to transfer to another school is an important and often difficult one in your college career. Before you act, do your homework. Make sure you understand how transferring will affect you, so you don’t negatively impact your education or your chances to play college sports. Listed below are some important information that one must become educated in the game of athletic eligibility.
AS A STUDENT ATHLETE – YOU MUST BE MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFER ADMISSION AS A STUDENT AND YOU MUST MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY AS AN ATHLETE
TRANSFER ADMISSION
You as a student must be eligible for transfer admission to the school of your choice, as a STUDENT…if you get recruited by…
A CSU CAMPUS
- You must complete 60 transferable units.
- You must complete the “Golden 4”
A UC CAMPUS
- You must complete 60 UC transferable units.
- You must complete Engl 1A and Engl 5
- You must complete a transferable math course
- You must complete the Foreign Language requirement
ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY
Depending on your NCAA ELIGIBILITY STATUS –
IF you are a QUALIFIER OR NON QUALIFIER
and you are being recruited by a NCAA D-I or D-II school…
Do you need to complete an AA Degree?
Are 48/60 units general education transferable
Do you have correct GPA for D-I -(2.5)
Do you have the correct GPA for D-II (2.2)
You can only count 2 units of PE Activity in your 48 units
NCAA ACADEMIC CORE
Depending on your eligibility status and where you may be transferring to, you may need to meet the NCAA Academic Core Classes
