About
The Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Degree and Certificate Grant Program intends to “reduce the overall cost of education for students and decrease the time it takes students to complete degree programs offered by community colleges.”
The ZTC Taskforce was created by Academic Senate in late fall 2024 as a short-term taskforce to
- provide input on proposals to identify ZTC Coordinator(s) for the Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Grant Program and
- provide strategic leadership for the ZTC grant within the CoA governance structure until the official faculty coordinator(s) was/were identified.
On April 14, 2025, Carla Pegues (cpegues@peralta.edu) and Jayne Smithson (jsmithson@peralta.edu) were selected as ZTC Co-Coordinators to facilitate this grant program under VPI Nicole Porter.
This website will be maintained as an archive of agendas and minutes of the ZTC Taskforce until the ZTC Degree and Certificate Grant program ends in 2026-2027.
Meeting Schedule and Location
The final meeting for the ZTC Taskforce was held on April 15, 2025. Having completed the tasks for which the group was commissioned, the ZTC Taskforce agreed to disband on April 15, 2025. Academic Senate was informed of this decision at their meeting on April 17, 2025.
